Define four separate events
Track the website visit, Telegram contact click, actual conversation and completed payment as different events. A click can happen without a message, and a message can end without a sale. Give each stage its own timestamp and meaning.
A qualified lead should also have a written definition, such as a real business with a relevant account need and a workable budget. Do not count every opened conversation as qualified merely to improve the dashboard.
Keep a reference through the handover
Where consent and applicable requirements permit, preserve campaign information with an internal lead reference. Provide a simple way for the customer to include that reference in the conversation. Do not assume a normal Telegram link automatically identifies the person’s ad click inside the chat.
Google documents the GCLID as an advertising click identifier that can support attribution and offline conversion tracking. It is not a customer name, and a missing identifier must not be invented from the customer’s country or approximate arrival time.
Record what the customer actually paid
Store a transaction reference, date, amount, currency and the lead it belongs to. Separate service revenue from advertising funds held for the customer. If your reporting uses profit or another value instead of revenue, define it consistently rather than switching between measures.
A hypothetical €1,000 service payment and a €1,000 advertising deposit are economically different events. Record any refund or correction against the original sale so a dashboard does not continue to report value that was reversed.
Import only eligible, supported conversions
Google provides offline-conversion mechanisms for connecting eligible later outcomes with ad interactions. The setup needs a suitable conversion action, supported identifiers and a verified data flow. Check the current requirements before importing; this article does not mean tracking is already active on your website.
- A unique lead and payment record.
- A supported attribution reference, if actually captured.
- An accurate conversion time and currency.
- A defined conversion value and no duplicate sale.
- An import result checked for errors or rejection.
Keep unknown attribution visible
If a buyer arrives without a reliable reference, record the sale as unattributed or self-reported rather than assigning it to a campaign by guesswork. Asking how the customer found you can be useful, but it is different evidence from a captured click.
Review qualified conversations and verified sales alongside traffic costs. Elite Ecom supplies accounts and support; this measurement framework is for advertisers operating their own acquisition process and is not a promise of a particular conversion rate.
